Ode to Aphrodite
I begin my pilgrimage from your body’s holiest shrine.
I prostrate myself before your navel,
like faithful when they kiss the holy icons.
..............
a little well of inebriating fragrances.
Holy anointment of secret hidden caves.
Eternal guardian of the most secret recesses.
Lustful as a fiery explosion .
..................
compose these two youthful brides.
And on them, inside them,
in the very centre,
rise your nipples,
between the short and lazy hair,
..............................
I stop before the everlasting triangle
between the dimples of your kidneys
and the tailbone of your coccyx.
The outline of your thighs.
This perfect curve that slowly appears in front of me,
torn apart like a cell splitting in two.
Two opposing bright moons.
...................................
Eternal guardian of your beauty.
Sleep.
Sleep and let that mighty sculptor time
play with your body.
